The Joseph Foundation, Inc. and The Joseph Homes Foundation

The Joseph Foundation, Inc. and The Joseph Homes Foundation are born out a vision given to Scott and Mary McMahon. Scott is a medical doctor who has been to Africa several times to preach, heal and spread the Word of God. He met his soulmate, Mary, at the wedding of his African hosts Solomon Oyetola and Vicki. Mary was Vicki’s “best lady” or maid of honor. Scott was the best man. He often jokes that “the best man got the best lady!”

Mary and Scott were married a year later in Nigeria and then in the U.S. Mary birthed 4 children in their first 5 ½ years of marriage while Scott was a successful businessman and physician. For a season, they also pastored a conventional church and before evolving into a home church. Their church is currently affiliated with Patricia King’s global ministry called XP Shiloh.

As the years passed, both Mary and Scott were grieved by the economic conditions they saw (and Mary had lived) in Nigeria. Poor infrastructure, few jobs of any sort without “connections”, very low pay and difficulty getting education past high school all made it difficult for the vast majority of Nigeria’s citizens to advance much less even feed their family. Scott and Mary prayed for several years until God gave them a vision of how things could be changed, one life, one job, one business at a time.

Initially, the Lord showed them acquiring land to build schools, homes and hospitals. He later revealed the construction of orphanages and church structures. Owning businesses, renting lands and helping the impoverished start up their own businesses were revealed as the primary funding sources. Mentoring in business and Godliness at every step was and is the central theme. Ministry blesses the businesses, the businesses bless the ministry. The teachings of Jesus permeate the entire culture.

Joseph, son of Jacob, by faith, changed the world around him and saved not only his family, but an entire generation. The Joseph Foundation, Inc. (TJF) was established in the U.S. in late 2013. Paperwork for the Nigerian branch, called The Joseph Homes Foundation, was begun in 2014 and approved a year later. Land has been acquired for the initial buildings. The first business has been funded and overwhelming success is expected, by faith.

Future plans primarily revolve around the revelation of God. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do. For whatever things He does, these also the Son does likewise.” John 5:19. What’s good for Jesus is good for us. He also said, “I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5. At TJF, we pray and wait on God for direction. Without Him, we can do nothing of eternal relevance. We have no agenda except to see His will done on earth just as it is done in heaven. We desire to no longer conceive Ishmael from our own flesh, as Abraham and Sarah did, but to only have Isaac, the child of promise come from God. The only way to do that is to wait on Him and depend on Him for everything! That is our mission. That is our heart’s desire.

By faith, we are The Joseph Foundation.
